1. Tierra Whack – Whack World
Conceptual album “Whack World”, released by Pennsylvania artist/rapper Tierra Whack, oozes originality and authenticity. With catchy hooks and clever punchlines, the critically acclaimed debut album received a “Best New Music” accolade from Pitchfork, with 15 tracks, each running for exactly 1 minute. 2. Kacey Musgraves – Golden Hour
Texas-raised county singer Kacey Musgraves released her 4th album in March this year, which won numerous awards including Album of the Year by Apple Music, and was nominated for Album of the Year at this year’s Grammy Awards (winner pending). Golden Hour opens with lyric “Born in a hurry, always late”, setting the tone of the album. Check out the live performance of “Slow Burn” here.

3. Ex:Re – Ex:Re
Following her special appearance at our Songwriter Showcase, Elena Tonra, lead-singer from Daughter, released her debut solo project Ex:Re in November. Elena and her band will be supporting Ben Howard at his sold out shows at O2 Brixton Academy in January 2019. Check out the music video for debut single “Romance” here.

4. Everything Is Recorded – Everything Is Recorded
2018 saw owner of British label XL Recordings, Richard Russell, release his debut album as an artist, “Everything Is Recorded”. The innovative album features guest appearances from a wide variety of artists, namely french-cuban twin sisters, Ibeyi, south London artist Sampha and Peckham rapper Giggs, forming an eclectic sound from start to finish. 5. Nils Frahm – All Melody
In January 2018, following the completion of his new studio in Berlin, German musician and composer Nils Frahm released his 7th studio album ‘All Melody’. The album features a range of juxtaposing sounds; from the classic Juno-60 synth, to his self-built church organ, creating a unique fusion of melancholy vs. euphoria, such when minimalism meets syncopated beats.
